Bioactive Composites

We design hybrid organic-inorganic composites with antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Lacunary silicotungstate-based POM-ILs adsorbed on magnetic silica nanoparticles constitute novel magPOM-SILP composites which can then be employed to remove multiple major surface pollutants from water including microplastics and microbes owing to a range of target-specific removal modes.

POM-Ionic Liquids are developed as transparent and chemically/mechanically stable coating for natural building stones. The coating protects the stone surface from acid corrosion and biofilm formation by forming an acid-stable and biocidal surface layer, allowing the possible protection of cultural heritage objects.
