New paper in Angewandte Chemie International Edition on high-density tin single-site catalysts for CO2 reduction

Our latest study, published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition, reports a new strategy to overcome the active-site density limitation of tin single-site catalysts for electrochemical CO2 reduction.
By controlling the local coordination environment of tin within a nitrogen-doped carbon framework, we achieved a high loading of atomically dispersed tin sites while maintaining their single-site nature. The resulting catalysts enable highly selective conversion of CO2 to formate across a broad range of current densities.
Operando spectroscopic and structural investigations provide insights into the stability and catalytic behavior of the tin single sites under electrochemical operating conditions.
